As of September 7, 2023, the TerraMatris fund was valued at $35.89, representing a weekly increase of $2.23, or approximately 6.63%.

The latest result continued the fund’s gradual growth during its first weeks of operation. TerraMatris was launched in August 2023 with the objective of generating recurring income through actively managed cryptocurrency strategies.

Weekly Fund Performance

During the week ending September 7, the fund value increased from approximately $33.66 to $35.89.

  • Previous fund value: $33.66
  • Fund value on September 7, 2023: $35.89
  • Weekly increase: $2.23
  • Weekly growth: 6.63%

Although the absolute increase remained modest because the fund was still in its early stages, the percentage return demonstrated the potential impact of consistently reinvesting trading income.

Building the Fund Through Options Premium

The early TerraMatris strategy focused primarily on collecting cryptocurrency options premium, particularly from Ethereum-related positions.

Instead of relying exclusively on rising cryptocurrency prices, the fund aimed to generate income by selling options and managing positions according to predefined risk parameters.

Premium collected from these trades was retained inside the fund, allowing the portfolio value to compound gradually over time.

This approach was designed to produce recurring income under a range of market conditions. However, options trading also carries significant risk, particularly during sharp and unexpected movements in the underlying cryptocurrency market.

TerraM Token Remains Flat at $0.86

While the underlying fund value increased, the TerraM token price remained unchanged at approximately $0.86.

At this early stage, TerraM liquidity was extremely limited. As a result, the quoted token price did not necessarily reflect the short-term changes in the value of the assets managed by the fund.

The difference between the growing fund value and the unchanged token price highlighted one of the main challenges facing TerraMatris at launch: building sufficient liquidity and market participation around the TerraM token.

A Small but Encouraging Step

The increase to $35.89 was still small in absolute dollar terms, but it represented another positive week for the newly launched strategy.

Early performance should not be viewed as evidence that similar returns can be repeated consistently. A weekly gain of 6.63% is substantial, and cryptocurrency and options returns can vary significantly from one period to another.

Nevertheless, the result supported the original TerraMatris thesis: disciplined premium collection and reinvestment could gradually increase the fund’s asset base.

Bottom Line

On September 7, 2023, the TerraMatris fund reached $35.89, gaining $2.23, or 6.63%, during the week.

Meanwhile, the TerraM token remained flat at $0.86, reflecting the limited liquidity available during the project’s earliest phase.

The weekly result marked another small step in the development of TerraMatris as the fund continued testing its cryptocurrency options income strategy and building its capital base.
